We are here to manage your prescriptions, deliver pharmacy services, and provide free expert advice on medicines, health and pharmacy services, including Pharmacy First and the NHS Pharmacy Contraceptive service.
We are located in what was once the the village Tavern! and although that "spirit" may have left, you can be assured that you'll be met with a warm welcome and a passion for patient care.

You can get the FREE* NHS flu vaccine if:
- you are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2026)
- you have certain long-term health conditions
- you are pregnant
- you live in a care home
- you are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
- you live with someone who has a weakened immune system
- you are a frontline health and social care workers can also get a flu vaccine through their employer.
- you have conditions that affect your breathing, such as asthma (needing a steroid inhaler or tablets), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or cystic fibrosis
- you have heart conditions, such as coronary heart disease or heart failure
- you have chronic kidney disease
- you have liver disease, such as cirrhosis or hepatitis
- you have some conditions that affect your brain or nerves, such as Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy
- you have diabetes or Addison's disease
- you have a weakened immune system due to a condition such as HIV or AIDS, or due to a treatment such as chemotherapy or steroid medicine
- you have problems with your spleen, such as sickle cell disease, or if you've had your spleen removed
- you have a learning disability
- you have being very overweight – a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or above
Speak to our Pharmacy team if you have a health condition and you're not sure if you're eligible for the flu vaccine. List is not exhaustive and subject to change.
Prescription Services
We deliver in more ways than one
We'll happily collect your prescription from any local surgery and if you need us to, deliver directly to your door. If you're local, simply drop-in and we'll see to you straightaway, alternatively collect when it's more convenient for you; perhaps before/after work, or when the village is less busy.
For prescriptions that aren't "local", any surgery in the UK can simply send these to the pharmacy electronically, ready for you to collect from us at your convenience.

Your Prescriptions
We dispense both NHS and Private. If you are not exempt from prescription charges, the fee is £9.90 per item. It may be more cost effective to purchase a pre-payment certificate. Speak to our team for further details.

Free Collection & Delivery
A busy life can make regular trips to the surgery and the pharmacy a pain. we can take your medicine requests to the GP, then return them to the pharmacy ready for collection or we can deliver to you.

Daily Dosing Packs
Are you or someone you care for having difficulty managing your medicines or remembering to take them. Our "tray" system can help organise your medicines and ensures you take them correctly to keep you safe.

There's more to Oakwood Pharmacy than prescriptions. We provide a range of services usually available without appointment.
Our pharmacists are available for FREE consultation in a private and discrete consultation area. For peace of mind all our medicines are sourced from government licensed (MHRA) wholesalers; we do NOT sell medicines online.

Emergency Supplies
If you find that you are without your regular medication then our Pharmacist may be able to provide you with replacement medication without a GP appointment or prescription. Visit us for help

Dependency Service
Our caring dependency service is inclusive and non judgemental as you would expect from health professionals. We are here to support your recovery and can be accessed up till 10.30pm

Flu Vaccination (seasonal)

Medicine Reviews
Have a FREE review with the pharmacist of your REGULAR medication or certain NEWLY prescribed ones to ensure you're getting the best from them and to identify and resolve any problems

Morning After Pill.
We provide both the NHS-funded FREE service (for patients 16-24 years) and "pay" services, We have a private consultation room and female pharmacists and / or chaperones are available.
NHS Contraception Service
Access routine oral contraception for the first time or as a repeat, direct from our Pharmacy: No GP or prescription required. FREE (NHS-funded) service. Takes just 10 minutes. No appointment required - walk-in or book ahead online.
NHS Pharmacy First
Pharmacy First is NHS-funded and provides prescription-strength treatments from your pharmacist without a GP. The service covers Sinusitis, Sore throat, Earache, Infected insect bites, Impetigo, Shingles, and Urinary Tract Infections. No appointment is required - walk in or call for a consultation.
